⚡ Express Checkout Is Here — Plus Smart Links, SEO Upgrades & More

March 3, 2026
Updates

Hey guys, we just removed more friction for buyers on their way to purchase your products! (And some friction for you managing your stores.)

From Express Checkout and smart URL actions to automatic alt text and multi-product add-to-cart buttons, these updates are all about helping shoppers move from click to purchase with fewer steps, while giving you more control behind the scenes.

👇 Everything below is live now and included on every plan – free or paid.

⚡ Express Checkout
(PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay)

Your customers can now check out in seconds using Express Payments. CartGenie already supported PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay in the normal payment flow — allowing shoppers to use their saved payment and shipping information for a lightning-fast purchase. But now you can also add Express Checkout buttons so they don't even have to enter their name or address!

You can place the Express Checkout component directly on your checkout page (included in templates by default) or inside your CartGenie cart so customers can skip straight to payment.

Why this matters:
Express payments dramatically improve conversion rates, especially on mobile. Customers don’t need to manually enter as many details, which speeds up checkout and reduces cart abandonment.

🛒 Add Products to Cart Automatically Using a Custom Link

You can now send customers directly to your site with products already added to their cart using a simple link.

This pairs beautifully with email marketing, upsells, or limited-time offers.

Why this matters:
It shortens the buying journey and removes friction between intent and checkout — especially powerful for campaigns where you already know what the customer wants.

How to Create a Link

🖼️ Automatic Alt Text for Product Images
(SEO Boost)

CartGenie now lets you add alt text to product and gallery images — and automatically pre-fills it using your store name, product name, and variant values.

You can customize it if you’d like, but out of the box your images now ship with SEO-friendly alt tags.

Why this matters:
Alt text improves accessibility and search visibility. This gives your product images better SEO without requiring manual effort.

➕ Product-Specific Add-to-Cart Buttons Now Support Multiple Products & Quantities

Our Product-Specific Add-to-Cart and Checkout button components can now add multiple products and multiple quantities at once.

Perfect for bundles, kits, or pre-configured packages — all triggered from a single button.

Why this matters:
You can build richer purchase flows directly into your pages, helping increase average order value while keeping checkout fast.

How To Use These Buttons

🔗 Automatically Apply Coupon Codes via URL

You can now automatically apply a coupon code when someone clicks a link to your site.

This is perfect for email campaigns, influencer promotions, top of site banners, or paid ads — simply include the coupon in the URL and CartGenie handles the rest.

Why this matters:
Fewer steps means higher conversions. Customers land on your site with their discount already applied — no copying, pasting, or confusion.

🪄 Other Recent Improvements

Cleaner customer vs shipping info
Customer name and phone are now stored separately from shipping details, keeping customer profiles consistent even when orders ship to different recipients.

Edit customer profiles directly
You can now update customer information right from the customer profile tab — no more workarounds required.

Stripe refunds sync automatically
Refunds issued in Stripe (instead of in CartGenie's dash) now appear directly in your CartGenie orders panel, keeping financial records aligned.

Real orders sent to Zapier during setup
When creating a Zap, CartGenie now sends real order data (if available) in addition to dummy data when clicking “Search for new records,” making testing and setup much easier.
